New at BikeBike in 2013 - Urban Cycling Clothing

When anyone ever talks about cycling clothing the very first thing to springs to most everyone's mind is some version of the lycra-clad, clickey shoe racer type or the super hi-viz commuter.  For people that use cycling for fitness (like me sometimes) clickey shoes and lycra bike clothes make a big difference to the comfort on the bike, no question.  For some folks, hi-viz allows them to feel safer when they cycle, which means they cycle more.

Bike clothes are good, when they make sense.

But what if you don't want or need all the "gear" - what if you are looking for something that performs as good on the bike as it does at work?  Well, the times, they've changed, and there are some great new (and not so new) lifestyle cycling brands out there which we have assembled into our new clothing collection.  Say hello to the brands below and be sure to pop in sometime soon to check everything out.

We are pleased to offer Levi's collection of Commuter Series trousers and jackets, made specifically for cycling, with special cuts and features to enhance comfort and durability.

Swrve is based in Los Angeles and has been busy for many years producing really nice stuff.  Their trousers are some of the most comfortable I have ever worn and come in many different cuts, fabrics, and even lined/cold weather versions.

Mission Workshop might be familiar to some of you for their incredibly tough bags but they also produce some of the most beautiful jackets and merino sweaters I've ever owned.

Club Ride is a newer, Idaho, USA based outfit that has been a lot of recognition lately for producing clothing for mountain biking that doesn't look at all like traditional bike gear.  Their western inspired tops and new trouser lineup look great.

We are really pleased to also offer Ibex Outdoor Clothing.  Here is what they're all about - in their own words -

"Ibex Outdoor Clothing is a wool clothing company. We’re a natural fiber company. A thoughtful design company. An excellence-in-product-development company. We’re a hiking-before-dawn company. A dogs-in-the-workplace company. A bike-to-work company. We’re also a community-supported-agriculture company, a cross-country-ski marathon company, a coffee-in-front-of-the-woodstove company."

We like the sounds of all of that and you will like the feel of their top of the line merino wool lineup.

Once winter rolls around we will endevour to offer clothing options to keep you rolling in comfort all winter long too so make sure you pop in to see whats new.

Happy 2013!

These clothing options look great if you are already fit and slim. Bike commuting is a whole lot harder when you are still not a size 12 (or smaller). Wonder where to find real options for those of us in sizes 16 - 20??

Absolutely agreed. We are working hard to find "real sized" bike stuff for ladies, as the owner Nadia is "real" sized and wants some good clothing options too.

Don't give up hope!

This is another great work by Levis. Levis is my favourite brand and hoping to buy these new collections.

Club Ride has made an innovative choice in designing biking clothes not like competitors and people would go for their products since it makes them more comfortable.
